All Is Mind—What Are You Creating?

Nancy Waring • 7 October 2025

From thought to feeling, from vision to creation

Have you ever noticed how life whispers to you before it shouts?

Sometimes the whispers are sensations in the body. Other times, a quiet knowing in your heart. And often, we ignore them—until change sweeps us along like a river current.

I’ve been reflecting on this question:

Does something exist before it is observed?

At first, it feels like a scientific riddle. But if you pause, it’s also a very human one. Your dreams, your potential, your inner wisdom—do they exist before you notice them? Absolutely. Yet they come alive only when you observe, feel, and begin to trust what’s already within you.

The Principle of Mind

The Hermetic Principle teaches that All is Mind. That everything begins as a thought, a vision, an inner spark.

Every time I’ve ignored my inner wisdom, I’ve drifted. Every time I’ve trusted it, even when the path looked uncertain, life opened in surprising, beautiful ways.

Science Meets Spirit

Even physics echoes this truth. The famous double-slit experiment showed that particles—tiny packets of energy—behave differently when observed. Random motion shifts into patterns the moment attention is given.

Isn’t that what happens with us?

When we bring awareness to a feeling, a longing, or a vision, it begins to shape itself. Awareness literally changes reality.

A Story of Shifting “Why”

Last week, I attended the GFWC conference as my club’s LEADS candidate. At the beginning, we were asked: Why did you join?

I envisioned myself in the group. That vision gave me purpose.

Six hours later, after listening, engaging, and reflecting, we were asked again: Has your why changed?

And mine had—without me even realizing.

My “why” had moved from something envisioned in my mind to something I now felt in my heart. I softened. My emotions shifted. I began to trust not just the picture I created, but the movement forward itself. Awareness, not effort, carried me into a new truth.

The River of Aging and Breath

This is the flow of life, isn’t it? We cannot stop change. We cannot hold back aging. But we can notice. We can feel. We can choose how we move with it.

Even something as simple as blowing out birthday candles reminds us: breath is life. Each breath marks time, yes, but it also symbolizes renewal. The gift is not in holding onto youth, but in allowing our awareness to deepen into authenticity, wisdom, and purpose.

Your River, Your Choice

So I return to the question:

What is your mental image of yourself, your life, your dreams?

Whether you observe it or not, it exists. Like a stream moving toward the ocean, your inner vision flows within you. The choice is whether to float unconsciously or to step into the current with awareness—guided by the wisdom that already lives inside you.

Because change will come. It always does.

But when you listen deeply, trust your body, and honor your inner voice—you don’t just drift. You become the river.

“When you touch one thing with deep awareness, you touch everything.” — Thich Nhat Hanh.

We live in a culture hungry for quick fixes. Today, that promise often comes in the form of injections like Ozempic—medications that make weight loss fast, dramatic, and visible. My own quick fixes looked different. They didn’t come from a prescription. They came from stress, control, endless workouts, and strict eating. And yes, they worked. The weight came off. Sometimes dramatically. I reached the body I believed was “ideal.” But here’s the truth: skinny didn’t mean healthy.

But then came the teasing. The comparisons. The quiet corrections. I started to hear: ● You are so ugly with those spots and red hair ● I can do it better than you ● Maybe the worse was being called “thunder thighs” And slowly, those whispers became loops.
